Jack D. Carnley

Mr. Jack D. Carnley, age 81, of Vancleave, MS., went to be with his Heavenly Father on Monday, September 29, 2008. Mr. Carnley was a resident of Vancleave, MS. He was a retired welding foreman with Ingalls Shipbuilding. He served in the US Army and in WWII and Japan. He was a member of the Ezel Masonic Lodge #426 in Vancleave and was an active member of the Magnolia Baptist Church of Vancleave where he served as a Deacon. He was preceded in death by his father, Johnie W. Carnley and mother, Stella (Tessola) Firth Carnley, a brother, Jerry Doyle Carnley and sisters, Aubrey Carnley Overstreet and Fay Nell Carnley Pannell. Survivors include his wife, Jennie Vee Overstreet Carnley, two sisters, Audrey Carnley and Carol Carnley (Fred) Moe, two sons, Dennis (Tammy) Carnley and Dale (Janice) Carnley, two daughters, Sue (Tom) David and Connie (Billy) Gibbs, all of Vancleave, eleven grandchildren, Tammy (Joe) Gillett, Mashawn (Jon) Thrash, Susie (Jeromy) Kleist, Travis Cook, Courtney Carnley, Brittany Gibbs, Justin Gibbs, Cody Gibbs, J.D. Carnley, Michael Carnley, all of Vancleave, MS., and Christie Nobles of Bay St. Louis, MS., thirteen great-grandchildren, Aaron, Seth, Matthew, Stephen, Moriah, Josiah and Beth Anna Gillett, Jackie, Curtis and Josh Thrash, Zain and Maison Kleist, all of Vancleave, and Madison Rutherford of Bay St. Louis, MS., and a host of other nieces, nephews and other relatives. Visitation will be on Tuesday, September 30, 2008, beginning at 6:00 P.M at the Magnolia Baptist Church on River Road in Vancleave, MS. On Wednesday, October 1, 2008, there will be a 10 AM service at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
