Mr. Jack Elwin McCoy, 82, of Ocean Springs, MS passed away on Saturday, August 12, 2006.
He was born on November 29, 1923 in Hattiesburg, MS, was of the Baptist faith and was a Veteran of the United States Navy. He was a musician for many years and worked as a security guard at Trent Lott airport. Mr. McCoy never met a stranger and was a southern gentlemen to all that knew him.
He was preceded in death by his wife Donna Rea McCoy; his daughter, Glenda Ann Ellise; his parents, Claude and Marie McCoy; a sister, Mary Spade and brothers, John McCoy, Edward McCoy and C.C. McCoy Jr.
Survivors include a daughter, Carolyn (David) Nash of Pascagoula; sons, Jack Elwin McCoy Jr. of Omaha, Nebraska, Joe E. (Rhonda) McCoy, John Edward McCoy and Jefferey Earl McCoy all of Hamburg, Iowa; step-daughters, Brenda "Penny" (Frank) Tapper of Vancleave, Mississippi and Charlotte Gail (Les) Grimsley; a step-son, Willard (Peggy) Jr. Fairley; his beloved pet, Zack; fourteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren all who will deeply miss their pa-paw, Grandpa Jack.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 till 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 15, 2006 at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes. Funeral Service will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 16, 2006 in the chapel of the funeral home. Burial will follow at 10:00 a.m. in Biloxi National Cemetery.
