Jack Sumrell, 71, of Gulfport, died Thursday, December 16, 2010 in Gulfport.
Mr. Sumrell was born in North Carolina and lived the past 23 years in Gulfport. He retired as a MSGT from the US Air Force after serving 21 years. After the Air Force he worked in the Aerospace Industry, retiring as Flight Safety Supervisor with the Lockheed Martin External Tank Project in 1995. He is loved and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alonzo Sumrell and Louise Eubanks; and two brothers, Robert Sumrell and Jeffrey Sumrell.
Survivors include his two daughters, Kelly Sumrell Mahoney of New Bern, NC and Nicole Sumrell of Midwest City, OK; a son, Sean (Jenna) Sumrell of Midwest City, OK; a sister, Rose (Robert) Brandau of Charlotte, NC; two brothers, Lon Sumrell of Rigby, Idaho and Mitchell Sumrell of Grantsboro, NC; and three grandchildren, Michael C. Mahoney, Collin and Zachary Sumrell.
Visitation will be Sunday, December 19, 2010 from 3 until 5:00p.m. at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, O'Neal Road, Gulfport. Graveside service is Monday at 12:30p.m. at the Biloxi National Cemetery.
