Jackie "Jack" Wayne Dodson

Jackie “Jack” Wayne Dodson, age 76, of Gulfport, passed away on Sunday, February 25, 2024.

Jack was born on August 3, 1947 in Palmer, TN to Eva Aildean Melton of Whitwell, TN. He was a Vietnam War veteran who served in the Army from 1965-1968. Jack received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 2 bronze service stars, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Ribbon, and 2 O/S bars. He also worked for 35 years in floor installation. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Jack was preceded in death by his mother; son, Sonny Cox; and great-granddaughter, Aubree Griffin.

Survivors include his wife of 18 years, Laraine Paulette Dodson; children, Chris W. Dodson of TN, Joey Dodson of GA, DonnyJoe Dodson of LA, and JackieLynn Dodson of LA; step-children, Janell (Patrick) Broussard of Ocean Springs, MS and Angele (Michelle) Boudreaux of WI; grandchildren, Noah, Braxton, Jasmine, Jillian, Amelia, Gracie, Annie, and Adrianna; great-grandchildren, Malakai, Hudson, Lillian, and Adelyn; siblings, Brenda (Johnny) Condra, Pete (Connie) Layne, Paul (Vicki) Layne, and Clara (David) Webster, all of TN; nieces, Marissa, Alisha, Angie, Shavon, and Michelle; and a one 4-legged dog-daughter named MonaLisa.

The family would like to extend a warm heartfelt thanks to Deaconess Home Health, Deaconess Hospice, and Biloxi VA Medical Center.

A graveside service will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, March 4, 2024 at Biloxi National Cemetery. A memorial gathering will follow at the Dodson home. Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, 15th Street, Gulfport is honored to serve the Dodson family.
