Jackie L. "Yonk" Richards, Sr.

Jackie L. "Yonk" Richards, Sr., 78, of Biloxi died Saturday, December 9, 2006 in the Biloxi VA Hospital. Mr. Richards was a lifelong resident of North Biloxi and was the owner of Richards & Sons Hauling. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. Mr. Richards is preceded in death by his wife Juanita Ladner Richards; parents Elmer Joseph Richards and Pansy Sticher Richards; two brothers E. J. Richards, Jr. and James "Sam" Richards; and sister Norma Quave. He is survived by his daughters Lorraine Hanson and her husband Carl of Gulfport and Carmen Collier of North Biloxi; son Jackie L. Richards, Jr. and his wife Patsy Letort of North Biloxi; brother Reginald Richards of Ocean Springs; 9 grandchildren and 19 great- grandchildren. Visitation will be Monday, December 11, 2006 from 6pm to 8pm at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home on O'Neal Road in Gulfport. Services will be held in the funeral home chapel Tuesday, December 12, 2006 at 10am. Interment will be in Wolf River Cemetery.
