Jacob "Jack" Thomas Markowitz

Jacob Thomas "Jack" Markowitz, 61, died Wednesday, August 8, 2012. Jack was born August 15, 1950 in West Palm Beach Fl, graduated in 1968 from H B Plant High School in Tampa, FL and served 7 years in the US Air Force. He was a long time local business owner, lifelong natural salesman and respected for his financial acumen. Family was most important in his life and was the motivation for everything he achieved. “Jack’s Girls” were always his top priority and is an example of the kind of man he was. He always made time to be in attendance at events and performances of his daughter and granddaughters. He was an exemplary son to his mother, making sure her every need was taken care of. Kind hearted, soft hearted, loving, openly affectionate, trusting, and a true friend at all times are words used by those who knew and loved him. He frequently and openly spoke of his love and appreciation to his family and friends. He was active and over the years he enjoyed many hobbies including fishing, Master Scuba Diver, spear fishing, golf, Texas Hold’em Tournament Poker. His most recent “great adventure” was traveling in their new motor-coach with his life partner, Tammi. Jacob is preceded in death by his father, Herbert Markowitz and his grandson, Peyton Kostmayer. Survivors include his life partner, Tamara (Tammi) Goggans; daughter, Shereen Markowitz Kostmayer; mother, Rose Gomez; step-brother, Edward Gomez, Jr.; and three grandchildren, Micaela Kostmayer, Marissa Kostmayer and Ame Block. Pallbearers: Herman (Bubba) Roberts Rick Marcel, Craig McDonald, David Hickman, Tim Goggans and Gary Goggans. Honorary Pallbearers: Allen Beck, Frank Baum and Pee Wee Collier. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 14, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., with a 12:00 p.m. service, all at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home. Interment will follow at D’Iberville Memorial Park.
