Jacqueline Marie Fayard Gilliard, born February 17, 1939 in Biloxi, Mississippi to Nettie Dedeaux Fayard and George Washington Fayard, passed away on October 19, 2024.
She was fondly known as Granny by her grandchildren and their friends. She was selfless and was devoted to her family. She loved “hittin’ the road” with her daughters and grandkids. Some of her favorite pastimes were sightseeing, thrift store and antique shopping, eating at some of her favorite local restaurants, and just spending time with family.
She was adored by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She was the kindest, most compassionate, and most beautiful person - inside and out. She will be remembered and celebrated by all of her loved ones and friends. Her memory and spirit will continue to live on through her daughters and grandchildren.
She is survived by her spouse, Kenneth Gilliard; daughters, Paula Guenther, Deirdre Morgan, Ada Dodson (George), and Lillie Hopkins (Gary); grandchildren, Misty Bond-Olszewski (Bernard), Kenneth Guenther (Roberta), Jules Hopkins, George Dodson, and Liliana Hopkins.
To respect her wishes, there will be no formal funeral service or memorial. Family and close friends intend to have a celebration of her life in the near future.
Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Homes is honored to serve the family of Jacqueline Gilliard.
