James Sterwart Ballard

James Stewart Ballard, 63, of Richmond, Virginia, passed away peacefully at home on February 18, 2025 in Pass Christian, MS. 

James was born on June 30, 1961, to the late William Ballard Sr. and Rosalie Marie Ballard. He was a devoted husband to his loving wife, Karen Davis Ballard, with whom he shared 32 wonderful years of marriage.

For 38 years, James worked as a truck driver, a profession he took great pride in. He was known for his kind heart, strong work ethic, and unwavering dedication to his family. James had a deep love for the outdoors, and in his spare time, he enjoyed traveling with his wife and children, exploring the mountains, camping, and spending time playing music. He also enjoyed golfing and treasured the moments he spent with his loved ones.

James was preceded in death by his parents, William Ballard Sr. and Rosalie Marie Ballard, and his brothers, William Ballard Jr. and Lester Ballard. He is survived by his sister, Dale Kastelberg.

James leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and family. He is survived by his children: Christopher Dubuisson, Paula Beal (John), Christin Bovender (Johnny), Olivia Dubuisson, Brandy Keys, and Brynne Schlosser (James). He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: James Dubuisson, Kayleigh Gardner, Jonathan Beal, Jordan Morris, and Kiya Taylor, along with his great-grandchildren: Kaden Schultz, Kylie Schultz, and Madelynn Bovender.

James will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, and his memory will live on in the hearts of his family. 

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Ruth, his hospice care nurse, for her compassion and care during his final days.
