James Bernard Banagan

Mr. James Bernard Banagan, age 74, of Ocean Springs, MS, passed away on Thursday, January 19, 2017. He was born on October 5, 1942 in Mobile, AL and passed away on Thursday, January 19, 2017. He retired from the U.S. Navy as an E6 and AE1 and was of the Catholic faith. He was preceded in death by his father, Bernard Banagan, mother, Evelyn M. Short, grandfather, Joseph F. (Joby) Mathieu, grandmother, Katie Mathieu, brother, Charles E. Short, brother-in-law, Bobby Owens and sister, Rosemary Short. Survivors include brother, Filipe Banagan, sister, Marilyn Louise Owens, brothers, William M. (Patricia) Short, and George E. (Cindy) Short, sister, Brenda F. (George) Mulvaney, brother, Joseph (Linda) Short, and fourteen nieces and nephews. Visitation will be on Friday, January 27, from 9am until 10am, with a 10am chapel service, all at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Biloxi National Cemetery.
