James Harold Barnett

James Harold Barnett, age 93, of Biloxi, MS passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2013. Mr. Barnett graduated from Carthage High School and was a World War II Veteran. He spent his working career at Keesler Air Force Base in the Technical Training School and his retirement years traveling with his wife and enjoying his grandchildren. As a long time resident of Biloxi, he was a member of First United Methodist Church in Biloxi and was a 32nd Degree Mason of the Magnolia Lodge. Mr. Barnett is survived by his son Larry Barnett and his wife Mary Lyn of Midlothian, TX, granddaughter Meredith Chase and her husband Peter of Madison, MS, granddaughter Laura Herlihy and her husband Michael of Madison, MS and grandson Steven Barnett and his wife Leigh of Dallas, TX, great-granddaughters Audrey Chase, Kaleigh Chase, Morgan Herlihy, and Katie Herlihy, great-grandson Conner Herlihy and two sisters, Margie Umlor of Tucson, AZ and Helen Wisneiewski and her husband Jerry of Biloxi, MS. He was preceded in death by his wife Lou Barnett, his daughter, Linda Barnett, his parents N.B. and Ollie Barnett and six brothers, Harry Barnett, Herschel Barnett, Howard Barnett, Mayo Barnett, Hilburn “Red” Barnett, and Hilton Barnett. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 28, 2013 from 10:00 AM till 11:00 AM followed by the funeral service beginning at 11:00 AM. Both the visitation and funeral service will be at the Bradford O’Keefe Funeral Home on Howard Avenue in Biloxi. Interment will follow at Southern Memorial Park.
