James "Jack" Deloss Beddingfield, 85, of D'Iberville, MS, died, Wednesday January 26, 2005.
Mr. Beddingfield was born in Silsbee, TX on March 19, 1919. He graduated from Moss Point High School in 1939. He served in the U.S. Navy for the duration of WW II and received an honorable discharged on March 26, 1946. He owned both B&B Fencing and Welding Co. and Gulf Coast Kart Track. He was a member of Joppa Shriners of Biloxi, Grand York Rite Bodies of Mississippi Coast, The Knights Templar, Biloxi Magnolia Lodge 120, Scottish Rite Bodies of Gulfport, former member of the Lions Club, one of the first members of the D'Iberville City Planning Commission, Charter and lifetime member of D'Iberville Community Club and North Bay Carnival Association. He also enjoyed square dancing and was a member of the Bells and Bouys Square Dancing Association. He was active member and worker of Cedar Lake United Methodist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and traveling. He has traveled 49 of 50 states and been to 11 different foreign countries.
Mr. Beddingfield was preceded in death by his parents Clyde Clifton Beddingfield and Dolly Belle Williams, grandson, Emmett Lee Landry II, 2 brothers, Henry Clifton and Walter Clyde Beddingfield, son-in-law, Carrall A. Bosarge, and nephew Walter Clyde Beddingfield II, and a niece, Kathleen Joy Beddingfield.
Mr. Beddingfield is survived by his wife of 64 years, Naomi Evelyn Morie Beddingfield, 2 daughters, Patricia E. Bosarge of Latimer and Jacqueline O. "Jackie" Landry and husband Emmett Lee of Biloxi, son, James Roy Beddingfield and fiance', Laurie Kostmayer, and brother William L. "Billy" Beddingfield of Gilmer, TX. He also has 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 7 great great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 28, 2005 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, 675 Howard Ave., Biloxi, MS. Services will be held Saturday, January 29, 2005, 11:00 a.m. at Cedar Lake United Methodist Church in Biloxi where friends may call after 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Swetman Cemetery with Masonic Services.
