James Clarence Evans, age 90, of Ocean Springs MS, passed away on Sunday, June 4, 2023.
He was born on October 25, 1932 in Canton, OH to Lucille and James Evans. James joined the United Sates Airforce in 1950 and served until his retirement in 1971, and also owned and operated a furniture restoration shop. He was selected as Man of the Year for Ocean Springs in 1969.
James was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Richard Evans; sister, Josephine Cunningham; and son, James Michael Evans.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Birdie Marie Evans; children, Dennis Ray Evans, Wayne Glen Evans (Anni), Sarah Brumbaugh, Pamela Sue Avera (Alan) and Earl Lester Evans (Vicky); 13 grandchildren and step-grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren and step-great grandchildren.
A Military Committal Service will be held 10:00am Wednesday, June 14, 2023, at Biloxi National Cemetery, Biloxi, MS.
