James Henry Duffey

James Henry Duffey, age 84, of Longs, SC, passed away Monday, July 31, 2023.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Thomas Duffey and Lillie Mae Winkler Duffey Wilson (Samuel Wilson); three sisters, Mary William Duffey Kirby, Hattie "Pete" Duffey Young, Estelle Duffey Lingerfelt; former wife, Doris Bumgarner Duffey; and stepson, Barry Oxford.

He is survived by his wife, Carole Krieger Duffey; daughter, Tammy Miritsch (Alex) and their three children, Paulina, Benedict and Sebastian of Munich, Germany; stepsons, Roger Oxford, Gary Oxford and Ronnie (Pam) Oxford; grandchildren, Johnna (Johnny) Oxford Perry, Shannon Oxford, Tiffany Townsend, Lindsey (Matt) Gantt, Nathanael Oxford, Jamison Oxford; six great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He served in the United States Army for 21 years and subsequently owned and operated J&D Trucking for nearly 40 years until his retirement. Jim loved his country and one of his favorite pastimes was talking with people and sharing stories about his military career as a decorated Vietnam Veteran. He will be greatly missed by all of us who dearly love him.

Family and close friends will honor Jim with a celebration of life service at a future date.
