James Edward "Pete" Ashley

James Edward "Pete" Ashley, 72, of Ocean Springs, MS died Tuesday, November 22, 2011 in Ocean Springs. Pete was a retired Chief Petty Officer from the Navy and retired from Ingalls Shipbuilding. He loved cruising in his MG, fishing and his home which he considered his full-time vacation spot. He was preceded in death by his mother,Gladys Johnston; father, Silas Ashley; and sister, Connie Shelton. Survivors include his wife, Annette Majorie Ashley of Ocean Springs, MS; daughters, Shelly (Scott) Kennedy and Beth Ashley; sons, Stephen Ashley, Patrick Ashley and Scott (Christy) Ashley; brothers, Nick Ashley and Silas Ashley; grandchildren, Heather (Kanat) Ozturk, Amber Ashley, Blake Ashley, Shannon Unger, Rachel Kennedy, Ada Ashley and George Ashley; and great-grandchild, Eli Ozturk. A funeral service will be held at St. John's Episcopal Church on Friday, November 25, 2011 at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery in Ocean Springs, MS.
