James C Evans

Col. James Carl Evans (Retired Air National Guard), 83, of Brandon died Friday, June 22, 2012 in Brandon. He worked for the military for 47 years, retiring in 1988. Mr. Evans was preceded in death by a son, David Carl Evans; his parents, John and Lovie Evans; step-mother, Alice Evans; sister, Annie R. Griffith; and a step-sister, Tommie Anderson. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Jennie Anderson Evans of Brandon; a daughter, Jayme L. Ellison (Tim) of Germantown, Tenn; a son, Joe Evans (Geni) of Brandon; a sister, Johnnie McKey of Centreville, Miss; two granddaughters, Christy Pollard (Todd)and Carrie Boyd (Donny) a grandson, Ben Ellison; three great- grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Monday, June 25, 2012 at 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, 15th Street Gulfport. The funeral service is Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Bayou View Baptist Church where friends may visit beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Gulfport with military honors by U.S. Air Force.
