Mr. James Evariste Champagne of N. Biloxi, died Sunday, October 22, 2006, in N. Biloxi. He would have been 84 on November 7, 2006.
Mr. Champagne was born in Edgard, La. and a longtime resident of Biloxi. He was a member of Scared Heart Catholic Church and a former member of St. Monica Catholic Church in Mobile, AL. Mr. Champagne was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Avis Johnson Champagne. Survivors include three daughters, Cathy Chmpagne of Missoula, Montana, Lori Melvin and her husband, Mike, of Hoover, AL and Yvette Cummings of Avondale, Arizona; two sons, James E. Champagne, Jr. and his wife, Dana, of Mobile, AL and Edward Champagne of Richland, Washington and a sister, Carolyn Martinez of Metarie, LA and thriteen grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be Wednesday, October 26, 2006, at Scared Heart Catholic Church at 11:15 a.m. where friends may visit one hour before service time. Interment will follow in Biloxi National Cemetery. The Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes in Biloxi is in charge of arrangements.
