James R Griffin

James Rether “Jimmy” Griffin, Sr., age 67, passed away Saturday, August 10, 2013. Jimmy was the owner of Village TV & Appliance for over 30 years and most recently worked as a school bus aid with Jackson County Schools. He was widely known as “Mr. Fix It” and had the ability to repair almost anything. Jimmy was a member of Biloxi River Baptist Church. Those who knew him described him as a loving and kind individual. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Lynda J. Griffin; two sons, James R. Griffin, Jr. and Robert F. Griffin, both of Ocean Springs; and daughter, Edith L. Griffin of Atlanta, GA. Jimmy had five wonderful grandchildren; four brothers, Rether Griffin, Gary Griffin, Jack Griffin, and Robert Mosher; and a sister, Annette Stewart. A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at Biloxi River Baptist Church, 13340 Rene Avenue, Gulfport from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be Thursday, August 15, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the church followed by the burial at Finley Cemetery, Highway 53, Gulfport.
