Mr. James Roy “Jim” Herrin made transition from this world to his eternal home Tuesday, June 5, 2018.
Mr. Herrin was born November 7, 1943 to Taylor E Herrin and Lula Aultman Herrin. Mr. Herrin was a native of Harrison County, but had resided in Pensacola, Florida the past 18 years. He proudly served his country in the US Army. He was of the Pentacostal faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Elbert, Everett, Thomas Edward, William Owen, and Lewy Herrin; sisters, Eunice Mae White, Alma Clemens, and Alice Herrin. He is survived by his sisters, Noba K. McLemore and Doris N. (Irley) Oxford of Gulfport and numerous nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind long time companions his little chihuahuas, Lucky and Little Bit.
The family wishes to thank the entire staff of the East 4th floor of Memorial Hospital for the care they gave to James. In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Humane Society of South MS, 2625 25th Avenue, Gulfport, MS 39501 or to a charity of one’s choice.
Visitation will be Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at 9:30 to 10:30 A.M. at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, 15th Street, Gulfport. The graveside service follows at 11:00 A.M. at Biloxi National Cemetery.
