James H. L. Thompson, 76, of Long Beach, died Sunday, February 7, 2010 in Gulfport after a long battle with cancer.
Mr. Thompson was born in Racine, WI on March 29, 1933 and had been a resident of the Coast since 1942.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles E. Thompson and Nellie House Thompson; five brothers, Charles, Pershing, Wilbur, Delmer, and Lawrence; three sisters, Eleanor Matli, Martha Spracklen, and Betty Thompson.
Survivors include a sister, Dorothy M. Panter and her husband, Fred, of Long Beach; nine nieces and two nephews.
The family wishes to thank the Driftwood Nursing Home Staff for the kindess shown to Mr. Thompson.
A private graveside service will be held at Biloxi National Cemetery with military honors by the U.S. Army. Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, 15th Street, Gulfport is in charge of arrangements.
