James (Huey) Moran, age 82, of Gulfport, MS died Wednesday, December 28, in Gulfport. He was born in Kiln. He was a devout Christian man, being a charter member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Gulfport. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus at the age of 18 years and was a later a fourth degree Knight. He enjoyed gardening, traveling, and hunting. He especially enjoyed time with his family and family gatherings. He was a simple man but a giant in his faith. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who will be deeply missed.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Ray Moran; two sisters, Inez Smith and Doris Moran; his parents, Sylvester S. Moran and Velina Necaise Moran.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Lula Moran; four daughters, Vandy (Jerry) Davenport, Velina (Donald) Pittman, Sheila (Micheal) Bounds, Belinda (Lee) Stewart;
two sisters, Betty Ladner and Ouida Ziemkie; and a brother, Jack Moran (EnlaRay);
eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and two foster children, Kevin and Karen Corley.
The visitation will be Friday, December 30, 2011 from 6 until 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary Service at 8:00 p.m. at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, O’Neal Road, Gulfport. The Mass of Christian Burial is Saturday, December 31, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Gulfport. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery at Rotten Bayou.
