James J. Fiala

James J. "Daddy Jim" Fiala, 86, of Ocean Springs, MS died Wednesday April 13, 2005. Mr. Fiala was a native of Schuyler, NE. He had been a coast resident for the past 63 years. He retired from Keesler Air Force Base in Civil Service as an Aircraft Mechanic after 30 years of service. He was a U.S. Army/ Air Corps Veteran of WWII. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church. Mr. Fiala was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Bernice C. Fiala. He is survived by two daughters, Gloria K. Howarth and husband Jim of Biloxi and Linda J. Johnson and husband Mark of Ocean Springs, two sons, Joseph E. Fiala of Ocean Springs and Frank A. Fiala and wife Lil of Sunnyvale, CA, nine grandchildren and 12 great-grand-children. Visitation will be held on Monday April 18, 2005 from 6pm - 9pm, with a Rosary at 7pm, at the Howard Ave. Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home. Services will be held on Tuesday April 19, 2005 at 11am, where friends may visit one hour prior to service at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Biloxi, MS. Burial is at Biloxi City Cemtery. Because of Mr. Fiala's love and concern for children the family requests in lieu of flowers memorials be made to the St. Jude Children's Hospital, Attn: Memorial / Honor Program FH, One St. Jude Place Building , Memphis, TN 38148-0552.
