James "Jim" Brown

Mr. James "Jim" Brown, 77, of Biloxi, died Saturday, April 22, 2006 in Biloxi, MS. Mr. Brown was a native of Nashville, TN and had been a resident of the coast for the past 30 years. He served in the U. S. Marine Corps for over 20 years, serving during WWII, Korean War, Vietnam War, and the Dominican Intervention. He served as a mess hall supervisor at Keesler Air Force Base for 6 years. He was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his parents, Allen and Mamie Barrett Brown; and brother, Allen Brown, Jr. Mr. Brown is survived by his wife of 22 years, Marguerite "Peggy" Brown of Biloxi; two daughters, Linda Giles, of Ormond Beach, FL and Sherry Ware of Highland Village, TX; two sons, Richard Brown, of West Palm Beach, FL and John Brown, of Gulfport, MS; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three sisters, Hatti Lancaster, of Nashville, TN, Minnie Hart, of Knoxville, TN and Nancy Shipman, of Nashville, TN. Services will be Thursday, April 27, 2006 at 10:00am in the Pass Road Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes, where friends may visit one hour prior to service time. Burial to follow in Biloxi National Cemetery.
