James "Jim" Owen, Jr.

Mr. James "Jim" Owen, Jr., 71, of Ocean Springs, MS died Tuesday, January 11, 2005 in Ocean Springs. Mr. Owen retired from the U.S. Air Force after 23 years of service, and then retired from Ingalls Shipbuilding after 20 years of employment. He was a member of the American Rifle Association, the Coast Guard Auxiliary, and the Gulf Hills Golf Club. Mr. Owen was preceded in death by his parents, James E. Owen, Sr. and Hazel Owen, and a son, Donald Owen. He is survived by his wife, Thanh Owen of Ocean Springs, MS; daughters Debra Shapiro of Atlanta, GA, Cheryl Owen of Cape Coral, FL, and Linh Morales of Ocean Springs, MS; sons James E. Owen III and Robert Owen of San Antonio, TX; grandchildren Monica Sexton, Justin Winkler, Lindsey Owen, and Emilee Morales; great grandchildren Hannah Sexton, Alex Sexton, and Charlie Winkler; and two brothers, Gerald Owen of Hartselle, AL and Nolan Owen of Batesville, MS. Services will be held Thursday, January 13, 2005, 8:00 p.m. at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, where friends may visit two hours prior to service time. Burial will be Friday, January 14, 2005, 10:00 a.m. at Biloxi National Cemetery. Honorary Pallbearers will be Justin Winkler, Gerald Owen, Nolan Owen, Corey Morales, Ed Scheufele, and Al Frammersburger.
