James “Jimmy” Wesley Jones, age 85, was born in 1927 and was a native of Gainesboro, TN. In 1945 he served in the Army which brought him to the MS Gulf Coast where he raised his family and made his life. Pawpaw Jimmy loved hunting, gardening, but especially fishing. After being orphaned at a young age, and then raised by family, his own family was his greatest treasure. He retired from Civil Service in 1989. He was a painter (paper hanger) by trade. Jimmy was a man of little means with a giant heart for his family.
Jimmy is preceded in death by his parents, Herbert Wesley Jones and Fannie Mae Stafford Jones; his siblings, Louis, Fred, and infant sister; his loving wife, Clara Barnes Jones; daughter, Margaret Jones Beaugez; and granddaughter, Regina Diaz Taylor.
His survivors include his children, Donald R. Jones (Angie), John W. Jones (Fran), Becky Diaz (Darrell), Rita Lamey, Martha Lamey (Cleve, Jr.); grandchildren and their children, Traci Jones, Barrientos (Sal) Arielle, Gabrielle, Brittani and Johnathan, Jeremy Jones, Michael Taylor, Madeline and Michael, Kevin Lamey (Dana), James Diaz, Spencer Diaz (Lora) Zoe, Joie Raine, and Colin, Tabitha and Abbie Beaugez; and numerous friends and acquaintances.
Memorials may be made to one’s favorite charity.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral service will be on Thursday, March 7, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. all at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home. Interment will follow at D’Iberville Memorial Park.
