James "Jimmy" Tanner, Jr.

Mr. James D. "Jimmy" Tanner, Jr., age 62, of Ocean Springs, MS., died Tuesday, April 1, 2008, in Ocean Springs. Mr. Tanner was a native and lifelong resident of Ocean Springs. He retired from the Jackson County District Four Road Maintenance. He was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Tanner Sr., and Alice Jakins Tanner, two brothers, George Tanner and David Tanner, and three nephews, Bobby Tanner, Duke Tanner, and Anthony Tanner. Survivors include his wife, Mary Yarborough Tanner, brother, Jessie Tanner and wife, Mary, all of Ocean Springs, MS., and two nephews, Howard Tanner and Tommy Tanner. Visitation will be on Friday, April 4, 2008, from 5-8 PM, with a 7 PM Rosary, at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home. On Saturday, April 5, 2008, there will be an 11 AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, where Mr. Tanner will lie in state from 10:30 AM - 11 AM. Burial will follow in Bellande Cemetery. The family would like to thank Saads Hospice and all of the family and friends for their support and love during Mr. Tanners' illness.
