James "J.T." Thomas Jones

Mr. James Thomas Jones, age 79, of Ocean Springs, MS passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2020. He was affectionately known as J.T., Buddy, Pawpaw and Deda. Mr. Jones was born on June 4, 1940 in Calhoun City, MS to the late Francis S. Jones, Sr and Lucille Jones. He served in the United States Navy from 1959-1969 where he served on the USS Sirius, USS Salamonia and USS Saratoga. After his military career, he was self-employed and traveled thousands of miles to provide for his family. He was a member of the McLeod Masonic Temple, Lodge #424 and a member of ADAH Chapter #49 OES of Ocean Springs. Mr. Jones is preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Jeremy David Jones; sister, Geneva Jones; and brother, Francis S. Jones, Jr. Survivors include his loving wife of 62 years, Margaret A. Jones, of Ocean Springs; children, James David Jones (Karen), Celeste Glenn (Charlie) and Denise Jones (Angie Massey) all of Ocean Springs; grandchildren, Leslie A. Ramon and Katie Jones; great grandchildren, Jade Premeaux, Kennedy Wilhelm, Mia Jeane and baby McElhenney; siblings, Edward Jones (Usa), Bill Jones (Jeannie) Fran Callaghan (Pat), Pearline Hawk (John); his beloved pets, Skruffy and Lillie Girl; and grand-dog, Boomer. Funeral service with Masonic Rites will be held at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home on Thursday, March 19, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. Family and friends are invited to visit one-hour prior. Interment will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery at 2:30pm. Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home is honored to serve this family.
