James Leslie Duke

James Leslie Duke, 74, of Ocean Springs, MS, died Saturday November 12, 2005. He was born in Harrisburg, Illinois on December 19, 1930. He was the son of the late Hardy Wilson and Daisy Cummings Duke. He married Alice Marie LeClaire of St.Charles, Missouri on December 1, 1966 in Alton, Illinois. He was preceded in death by two sisters, a daughter, a granddaughter and a grandson. He was employed by Ingalls Shipyard in Pascagoula for 20 years until he retired in 1994. He was in the United States Air Force from 1947 to 1952 and served in the American Legion Post 42 of Ocean Springs. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ocean Springs. Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Bonnie Duke St.Arnaud and her husband Michael of Ponchatoula, LA, four sons, Danny Joe Duke and his wife Starlette of Ocean Springs, Donald Ray Duke and his wife Katie of New Iberia, LA, John Duke and his wife Cindie of Ocean Springs, and Darrin Manning of Gastonia, NC. He is also survived by two brothers, H.W. Duke of Dogwood, MO, and Cletus Duke of Cypress, Ill, two sisters, Alfreda Matthews of Dogwood, MO, and Yvonne Mier of Alton, Ill, and nine grandsons, three granddaughters, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Mr. Duke will be sent from Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home in Ocean Springs to Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie, MO for services and burial at Dogwood Cemetery in East Prairie, MO. Pallbearers will be; Danny Duke, Donald Duke, John Duke, Darrin Manning, Mike, John, and Cody St. Arnaud.
