James Glenn Montiforte, age 77, of Saucier, MS passed away Saturday, February 22, 2020 peacefully at his home with his family.
Glenn worked over 50 years in the seafood industry running multiple shrimp boats including three boats built by his own hands. He also made his own shrimp trawls and trawl boards as well as for others. With help of family and friends, Glenn built his current home in Saucier before Hurricane Katrina. Glenn’s many talents and hobbies include hunting in which he excelled at and loved greatly. Although he only had a 7th grade education, his mathematics knowledge was extensive and there wasn’t much he couldn’t accomplish. Glenn was always willing to lend a hand to help his family and friends. One of Glenn and Carol’s greatest accomplishments was their children. They raised four strong men that blessed him with many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Glenn was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 58 years, Carolyn Montiforte; and his parents, Sam and Elaine Montiforte.
He is survived by his sons and daughter-in-law, Darrell, Lanis, Clay (Brandy), and Brad; grandchildren: Dara, Danielle, Daisha, Darrell Jr., Drake, Dylan, Caleb, Drake, Gavin, Kaleigh and Brookelyn; great grandchildren: Wyatt, Maisie, Cameron, Bryceson and River Grace; his brothers and sister in laws, Joey (Diane) Montiforte, Richard Montiforte Sr, Sammy Montiforte, Kurt (Debbie) Montiforte, Dougie (Jamie) Montiforte, Martha Montiforte and Toni Ganucheau; and many, many nieces and nephews.
The sons would like to thank all the family and friends for their love and support during this time.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home on Howard Avenue in Biloxi.
