James Wiley Newman

Mr. James Wiley Newman, age 96, died Monday, December 12, 2016 at the VA Hospital in Dallas, Texas. Mr. Newman was a resident of Ocean Springs, MS since 1968. He was a deacon and broadcaster for the First Baptist Church of Ocean Springs and member of the local Ancestry Society. He was born in Winn Parish, Louisiana to Frank and Mary Newman. He was a WW2 Veteran of the Army Air Corp serving in the Pacific Islands with the 505 Bomber Squadron and then an instructor and editor for the Air Force for 35 years retiring at Keesler Air Force Base. His beloved wife Ruth died in 1995. He is survived by 5 daughters, Betty Parker, Virginia Lester, Linda Wescovich, Deborah Newman and Sarah Newman; 1 brother, Raymond Newman; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at Crestlawn Memorial Park in Ocean Springs, MS on Friday, December 16, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. The Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
