James Phillips

Mr. James Samuel "Jimmy" Phillips, age 76, of Ocean Springs, MS., died Sunday, January 10, 2010, in Ocean Springs. Mr. Phillips was a native of Laurel, MS., and owned and operated Maritime Endeavors. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Ocean Springs. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joeanne O'Bryant Phillips and two sons. Survivors include a daughter, Judy Phillips and her companion, Kali Degrassi of Oakland Park, FL., nieces, Frances and Beverly, nephew, Ernest Phillips and a cousin, Madison Lindsey. Visitation will be on Saturday, January 16, 2010, from 11 AM - 12 Noon, with a 12 Noon Memorial Service at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Ocean Springs. Burial will be in a family plot at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials be sent to the church at 401 Holcomb Blvd., Ocean Springs, MS. 39564. The Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
