He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Donna Lucas Posey; mother, Nettie Posey, of Brookhaven; three children, James Posey, Jared (Jeni) Posey and Bridget (Andrew) Mudgett; step-son, Randall (Jeanne) Gray; and four grandchildren, Meredyth, Skylar, Dillon, Whitney, Kennedy, Julie and Johnny. Jim dedicated his life to his military career and took great pride in serving his country. He helped to shape many young men and women who went on to have fine careers in the military and gave much credit to Master Sergeant Posey for his guidance. Jim was a man known for his exceptional heart and capacity to love. He was loved by all who knew him and everywhere he went he was known by someone. It was a great joke to the entire family that, even in the middle of the woods, he would know the first person he came across. He loved to laugh, he loved to make others laugh, and he loved his wife. No two people were more suited for each other. He truly felt he found his soul mate in Donna, and he lived everyday with the intention of making her happy, which in turn, brought him happiness. Her family became his family and his devotion to them will never be forgotten. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to either St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or Forever Homes 4 Dogs in Pascagoula, MS, from where he and his wife rescued two of their fur babies. His celebration of life will be Wednesday, May 20, 2015, 10:00 am, at Bradford O’Keefe Funeral Home, Howard Avenue Chapel. Friends may visit one hour prior. Burial will be at Biloxi National Cemetery with United States Air Force Military Honors.
