James Norman (J.N.) Randall, Jr, age 77, of Gulfport, MS passed away at home Monday, October 15, 2018. J.N. was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many.
He was preceded in death by his son, Charles Hoyt Randall of Opelika, AL, his father, James N. Randall, Sr. of Gulfport, MS, his mother, Dorothy Stewart Randall of Gulfport, MS, his brother Gary Randall and his wife Carolyn Randall of Gulfport, MS and his brother Clifton Randall of Gulfport, MS.
J.N. is survived by his wife Angela Randall, his son, James Norman White and his wife Kennedy White, his son, Robert Michael White and his wife Dayna Moore White, his son Bidwell Adam White, his step daughter Leanna Danielle Lindsey and step son Devin Taylor Lindsey, eleven grandchildren and his pet Chihuahua Precious.
He was born in Picayune, MS and moved to the Gulf Coast as a small child and resided on the Coast most of his life. He was a graduate of Gulfport High School and then attended the University of Southern Mississippi where he became a member of the Kappa Alpha Order. After graduating from USM, he received his Law degree from Jackson School of Law and moved back to the Coast and opened his law practice. J.N. had a love for the law and practiced for many decades and over the years became an icon to some in his area of the law. He became a Chancery Court Judge and later a Senior Status Judge.
J.N. loved the outdoors and was an avid fisherman. He enjoyed hunting, hiking, rugged back packing camping trips, dog mushing, skiing, gardening, and traveling. He also loved birding and was a member of the Audubon Society for several years.
J.N. had a great devotion to his wife and family and he enjoyed our large family gatherings and meals during the holidays. He always had wonderful stories to share and his bold laughter and beautiful smile had a way of lighting up the room. He will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be held Thursday, October 18, from 5 until 8:00 p.m. at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, 15th Street, Gulfport. The funeral service will be held Friday, October 19, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Gulfport where friends may visit one hour before the service and interment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Gulfport.
