James Cook Reed, Sr., age 93, peacefully passed away Thursday, January 30, 2014.
James was born in Gulfport, MS on June 17, 1920 and was a resident of the Gulf Coast. He had a great love for life which was fulfilled through his surroundings of his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, family and friends. James was a member of the Army National Guard. He had a passion for music and dancing. He is now dancing again with the love his life, Donna Jean, wife of 63 years. He was a member of the Grace Memorial Baptist Church of Gulfport, MS. He was truly a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He will be greatly missed.
James is preceded in death by his parents Robert Sr. and Emma Reed; loving wife, Donna Jean; and 12 brothers and sisters.
Survivors include his 3 sons, James Reed, Jr., Dennis Reed and Rodney Reed (Karen); daughter, Sharon Spragio (Royal, Jr.); 6 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at D’Iberville Memorial Park at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, February 7, 2014. The Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
