James S. Rainey, II, 64, of Biloxi, MS., died on August 29, 2005, as a result of Hurricane Katrina. He was born on April 20, 1941 in Biloxi, MS.
James felt a need to help the people within the community. He worked many years at the Broadwater Beach Hotel as a caterer and decorator. He owned and operated J.R.'s Catering and Decorating Service and was a member of the Elks Lodge #576 in Biloxi. He was a member of the New Bethel Baptist Church in Biloxi and was the first black Eagle Scout of Biloxi Troop #54.
He is preceded in death by his father, James S. Rainey, Sr.
He is survived by his mother, Ruby M. Hawkins Rainey; four children, James S. Rainey, III; Ricky L. Rainey; Alishia D. Beasley; and Gloria Wallace;
one step-daughter, Kim Matthews; six sisters, Ethel Clay, Jackie Moody, Edna Reynolds, Frances Carter, Teresa Bradley, and Thias McGhee; six brothers, Gary Rainey, Donald Rainey, Rodney Rainey, Terrence Rainey, Derrick Rainey, and Anthony Rainey; sixteen grandchildren and one great-grandchildren.
On Saturday, October 15, 2005, a 2:30 PM Memorial Service will be held at the New Community Misssionary Baptist Church, 325 Nixon Street, Biloxi, MS.
