James Stephen "Steve" Burnett, TSgt USAF Retired, 54, of Saucier, MS, died Friday, June 4, 2010, in Mobile, AL.
He was born in Memphis, TN and had been a resident of the coast since 1991. He retired from the U. S. Air Force in 1994 as a TSgt after 20 years of service. He was a veteran of Desert Storm and a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Gulfport.
Steve was preceded in death by his father, John Sunday Burnett and grandson, Benjamin Burnett. Survivors include his wife, Janet Burnett of Saucier; three daughters, Bethany Lovelace and her husband, Alan, of Gulfport, Hanna Burnett and Joanna Burnett both of Saucier; two sons, Joshua Burnett and his wife, Anna, of Eagle River, Alaska, and Ethan Burnett of Saucier; his mother, Mary Burnett of Memphis, TN; three brothers, John Burnett of Memphis, TN, Joe Burnett of Denver, CO, and Paul Burnett of Nevada; and two granddaughters, Adelyn Lovelace and Jenna Burnett.
Steve fought the good fight, finished the race, and kept the faith. He is now resting in the bosom of his Savior and Best Friend.
Visitation is Tuesday, June 8, 2010, from 5 until 8 p.m. at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, O'Neal Road, in Gulfport. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. at the First Presbysterian Church on O'Neal Road in Gulfport where friends may visit one hour before service time. Interment will follow in Biloxi National Cemetery with full military honors.
