James Anthony “Jimmy” Taranto, 74, of Biloxi, MS passed away at his home on Saturday, January 27, 2024.
Jimmy was born on September 29, 1949 in Biloxi, MS to Leborio “Giggolo” Taranto and Ruth Parkman Taranto. He graduated from Biloxi High School and received his Bachelors Degree from Delta State University. Jimmy was employed as an umpire at Keesler Air Force Base for many years, as well a security guard for the Imperial Palace. He was an avid golfer and sports enthusiast, especially football.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Howard John “Johnny” Taranto.
Jimmy’s survivors include his companion and caregiver, Reagan Moore Taranto Janca; and numerous cousins and friends.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Lisa Taranto Merten and Fr. Dominic Pham.
In lieu of flowers the family prefers donations be made in Jimmy’s memory to the Shriners Children’s Hospital @ donate.lovetotherescue.org
A Funeral Service will be held at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home on Howard Avenue in Biloxi on Friday, February 2, 2024 at 12:00 pm. Friends may visit from 11:00 am until service time. Interment will follow at Biloxi City Cemetery. A reception will follow at the Sacred Heart Aquinas Hall in D’Iberville.
