James Odies (JO) Tillman, 79 of Bay St. Louis, MS, passed away on Saturday February 22, 2020 at Gulfport Memorial Medical Center. JO was born January 20, 1941. JO was a native of Carriere, MS and a longtime resident of Slidell, LA. JO worked for Braniff Airlines as a maintenance worker and a fuel man from 1967 until they closed in 1980. While working as a truck driver, JO was able to experience travel. This career allowed JO to live in several cities while working as a truck driver, Michigan, Colorado, Illinois, Texas, Florida, Louisiana and Mississippi. He enjoyed his retirement as well as enjoyed music, classic cars, soap operas, westerns, sports, and a host of other activities especially a “good watermelon”.
He was preceded in death by his parents Georgia L. Coleman and Jeff Tillman; two siblings Billy Ruth Tillman and Bobby Jean Tillman.
He is survived by his son Eric James Tillman (Karen); and his daughter Nickol Tillman Lynch (Eddie); granddaughters Alarice L. Price; Dasia A. Talmadge; Ciana R. Talmadge; Caprice L. Tillman; siblings Catherine Jones; David Tillman; Delois Woods; George Tillman (Marilyn); Anita Tillman Smith and a hosts of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and loved ones.
Visitation will be held from 12pm to 1pm on Friday February 28, 2020 at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, 15452 O’Neal Road, Gulfport, MS 39503 followed by the funeral service at 1pm. A reception will be held at 3pm Friday February 28, 2020 at Perfect Peace Christian Ministries 13755 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport, MS 39503
