James Joseph Tolson

James Joseph Tolson, age 88 of Long Beach died Tuesday, November 29, 2016. He was born in Clinton, Iowa, was a former resident of Gulfport for ten years and a resident of Fort Myers, FL for twenty years and recently a resident of Long Beach. He was a member of Resurrection Catholic Church in Ft. Myers. He was a retired electrical engineer. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Ann Snyder Tolson; a brother, Jack Tolson. Mr. Tolson is survived by his two daughters, Julia Gillard of Johnstown, OH and Jeannie Seymer (Phillip) of Carthage; four sons, James Tolson (Bernadette) of Long Beach, John Tolson (Laura) of Merrit Island, FL, Jay Tolson of Burlington, North Carolina, and Joe Tolson (Wendy) of Lena, MS; a sister, Joyce Memson of Michigan; a sister-in-law Nancy Snyder and daughter, Cari; twelve grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. The Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, December 1, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Long Beach where friends may visit beginning at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be in Gulf Pines Memorial Gardens, Long Beach.
