r. James W. Parker, 85, of D'Iberville, MS, died Saturday, April 12, 2008, in D'Iberville. Mr. Parker was a native and lifelong resident of D'Iberville. and a retired pipefitter of Local #568 Plumbers and Steamfitters Union. He served with the U. S. Army during WW II and the Army National Guard during the Korean Conflict. He was a Mason and 50 year member of Magnolia Lodge #120 and Biloxi Elks Lodge. He was a member of D'Iberville Water and Sewer Board of Directors at its inception. He was of the Catholic faith. Mr. Parker was preceded in death by his sons, James W. "Jimmy" Parker and Melvin D. Parker, and his parents, Curtis Paul Parker and Victoria Rose Acevado Miller. Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Doris Quave Parker and daughter, Charmaine M. Parker, both of D'Iberville; son Dennis R. Parker of Ocean Springs; sisters, Mary Louise LeBlanc of Gulfport, Delores Landry of Woolmarket, Katie Ahern and Margaret Simmons of Ocean Springs; brothers, M. H. Parker of Ocean Springs, Raymond Parker of Saucier, and Curtis P. Parker, Jr. of Wiggins; seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials be made to the Multiple Sclerosis of The MS Gulf Coast, 3047 Chatham Road, D'Iberville, MS 39540. Visitation is Thursday, April 17, 2008, from 5 until 8 p.m. at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Howard Avenue, in Biloxi. Graveside services are Friday at 12:30 p.m. at Biloxi National Cemetery.
