James Plaze Warner, 92, born March 3, 1922, in Mobile, Alabama, died on January 7, 2015 in Biloxi, MS.
James grew up in New Orleans and retired in Ocean Springs, MS. He is the son of Jim and Abbie Warner and a member of St. Luke Methodist church. James served in the Navy on the LST- 743 during World War II and was part of the Pacific Theatre and McArthur campaign. He was educated at Tulane and was an entrepreneur in home building and enjoyed dealing in antiques and as a gem dealer. He studied the martial arts and was also a member of The Tennessee Walking Horse Society where he was owner and exhibitor. James believed there was no greater sacrifice than to God, his family and his country. He will be greatly missed by his wife, family and his community.
James is survived by his wife, Geraldine Gore Warner; his children, Tom Warner of Hohenwald, TN, Joyce Morton of Springfield, MO, Sue Richard, Shirley Agius and Dorothy Carter all of Huntsville, AL, John Warner of Houston, TX, and Steve Warner of Braxton, MS, from his deceased wife, Louise Speaks Warner; eighteen grandchildren; twenty nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Private services will be held at a later date.
