James Alvin Williams

James Alvin Williams, age 81, of Gulfport, MS went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, February 2, 2025. 

Born on September 15, 1943, Jimmy was a lifelong resident of the Coast where he was born and raised in Biloxi. He was retired from MDOT and enjoyed spending his days with his wife and family. He loved talking with his grandsons about sports and guns. During his spare-time, he enjoyed working on old cars and looked forward to attending Crusin the Coast. His family meant the world to him and he was happiest when surrounded by them. 

Jimmy is preceded in death by his grandparents who raised him, Auther Williams and Lilly Comeaux Williams; his mother, Winnona Handler; brothers, Sammy Handler and Donald Handler; sister, Shirley Vogel; as well as a multitude of nieces and nephews. 

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Diana Ward Williams; two daughters, Jennifer Williams Hough (David) and Jimie Lynn Cuevas (Kory); his three grandsons, Tyler Cuevas (Maddison), James Peyton Hough and Tate Cuevas; and by his special aunt, Slyvia Beddingfield. He also leaves behind his siblings, Mackey Handler, Susie Handler and Morris Handler. 

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 5, 2025 at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, Howard Avenue in Biloxi. Friends may visit one hour prior. Interment will follow at Biloxi City Cemetery.
