Mr. James J. Wright passed away on May 28, 2013 in Ocean Springs, Mississippi.
Mr. Wright was born on July 22, 1927 in Jacksonville, FL, the son of Della and Thomas Wright. He was raised at Tom’s Fish Camp on Lake Apopka in Montverde, FL and lived most of his adult life in Titusville, FL. He graduated from his beloved University of Florida in 1949 with a B.A. in Business. He proudly served on the Underwater Demolition Team of the United States Navy in the Korean War and retired from the United States Naval Reserve as a lieutenant in 1970. He worked as a quality control engineer with North American Rockwell until he retired in 1993. His love for his wife, Ilene, was like no other, and he bragged that they still shared a kiss each night before bed after 60 years of marriage.
He was preceded in death by his son Michael, his parents and his sister, Ona Belle Conley.
He is survived by the love of his life, Ilene, and their children, Cynthia Zorn and Kevin Wright (Sharon), grandchildren, Stacie Zorn Armer (Tristan), George Zorn, Jr. (Laney), and Sara Wright, great-grandchildren, Trey Zorn and Canon and Townes Armer, all of Ocean Springs, MS and special sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Sylvia and Buddy Pettis of Summerfield, FL.
Visitation will be on Monday, June 3, 2013, from 6 pm until 8 pm at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home. On Wednesday, June 5, 2013, there will be a 2:30 pm graveside service in Biloxi National Cemetery.
