Jane Louise Rogers passed away on July 14, 2020 at the age of 89 during the Covid-19 epidemic. She was the beloved wife of Joseph Smith Rogers who preceded her in death on July 9, 2008. They both were active members of Vancleave United Methodist Church.
She is also preceded in death by her parents, Peter James Moran and Edith Colson Moran; brothers, James Chester Moran, John Angus Moran and Jack A. Moran; and her eldest son, Gerald Edward Rogers.
Jane is survived by her children, Willie Joseph (Jerri) Rogers, Joannie Louise (Michael) Smith, Stephen Wayne (Mary) Rogers, Bruce Jerome Rogers, and Susan Illene (Randy) Church; her sister, Gladys Wolf; and brother, Thomas Moran. She had 13 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Jane was an active and dedicated volunteer in numerous clubs and organizations. She was very creative spent many hours making art and ceramic pieces that she always shared with her family and friends. Jane’s passion was sewing, crocheting and knitting. She loved knitting blankets for her newborn grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, July 9, 2021 at 6:00 pm at the Vancleave United Methodist Church, 13620 Hwy. 57, Vancleave, MS 39565. Prior to the Celebration, food and refreshments will be served in the church Fellowship Hall beginning at 5:00 pm.
Mrs. Rogers’ ashes will be interred next to her husband on Monday, July 12, 2021 at 10:00 am at Biloxi National Cemetery.
