Jane McDaniel Wade

Martha Jane McDaniel Wade of Ocean Springs, MS passed away on October 4, 2017, in Ocean Springs, MS, at the age of 87. Jane was born on February 9, 1930, in Goodman, MS. She graduated from Mississippi College in Clinton, MS, in 1951. Jane taught music for 37 years in the Ocean Springs School District and was an organist at First Baptist Church of Ocean Springs and First Presbyterian Church in Ocean Springs, for over 35 years. She travelled the world with her sisters and moved to Brookdale Senior Living in February of 2017 and enjoyed playing the piano to entertain the other residents. She is preceded in death by her husband, James Edward Wade; her parents, Major Cyrus McDaniel & Vesta Anise Pickering McDaniel; and siblings, Anise Elizabeth Brock & Major Cyrus McDaniel. She is survived by her children, Sara Kathleen Drew (husband Ron) of Beaufort, SC, James Randall Wade (wife Barbara) of Ocean Springs; Patricia Jane Stewart (husband David) of Enid, OK, grandchildren, Teresa Ann Shell (husband Spencer) of Atlanta, GA; Megan Nicole Allison (husband Marc) of South Greenfield, MO, Dustin Erwin Stewart of Enid, OK, Catherine Danielle Sorenson (husband Joshua) of Newnan, GA, Lana Evelyn Wade (Danny) of Biloxi, MS; and great grandchildren, Henry Allen Shell, Martha-Kathleen Chestnut Shell and Mason McDaniel Shell and her siblings, Mary Annette Robertson Smith of Hattiesburg, Sara Frances Davis of Savannah, TN and Jack Willis McDaniel of Jackson. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 6, 2017 from 4pm-7pm at Bradford O’Keefe Funeral Home in Ocean Springs. Services will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at 10 am at First Presbyterian Church in Ocean Springs. She will be interred in Clinton Cemetery in Clinton, MS, next to her parents. Memorial donations may be made to the Music Department at Mississippi College in lieu of flowers.
