Janell Egloff Alliston

September 28, 1938 — March 16, 2025

D'Iberville

Janell Ann Egloff Alliston, 86 years old of Ocean Springs, MS, peacefully passed away surrounded by family on Sunday, March 16, 2025, in Biloxi, MS.

She was born on September 28, 1938, to John and Mabel Egloff. She was raised in Bay St. Louis and attended St. Joseph’s Academy in Bay St. Louis, 1st through 12th grade. Janell was married to the late Wayne S. Alliston Jr. for 52 years and together they had 2 children and 3 grandchildren. She worked as a bookkeeper, assistant to her husband at his insurance agency and after their children were grown, became a successful salesperson for Physicians Mutual Insurance company for 15 years. Janell was a faithful and devoted member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church for 56 years where she served on the Altar Society. She also volunteered for the St. Vincent De Paul pharmacy for 15 years. Janell was an exceptional cook (famous for her red velvet cake, pralines and many other amazing dishes), loved to garden, and played Bunco with the same group of ladies for over 50 years. She also loved fashion, shopping, and watching golf. She especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends and most of all her beloved grandchildren.

Janell was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mabel Egloff; and spouse, Wayne Sutton Alliston Jr.

She is survived by her children, Jeff Alliston (Yvette) of Katy, TX, and Amy Leon (Miguel) of D’Iberville, MS; grandchildren, Jeffrey Alliston Jr, Liam Alliston, and Vallie Janell Leon; and sisters, Marlene Logan of Pass Christian, MS and Marion Lott (Edward) of Metarie, LA.

In lieu of followers the family prefers memorials be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org. or to St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in her honor.

The family would like to thank the staff at Summer House Bay Cove Memory Care, for the genuine love and support shown to our beloved Janell. We are also immensely grateful for the many decades of loving care provided to Janell and our family by Dr. Yashashree Bethala.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, Ocean Springs. Friends may visit one hour prior. A celebration of life follows Mass at the KC Hall of St. Alphonsus. A graveside service will follow at 3:00pm at Garden of Memories, Bay St. Louis.

Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Homes is honored to serve the family of Janell Alliston.
