Janet Lee Hamilton Wood

Mrs. Janet Lee Hamilton Wood, 52, of Biloxi, MS, died Monday, February 21, 2011, in Gulfport. Mrs. Wood was born August 8, 1958 in New Orleans, LA and had been a longtime resident of the coast. She Attended Christ Episcopal Day School in Bay St. Louis and graduated from Bay High School in 1976. She was a 1980 graduate of the University of Mississippi with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business and a member of Delta Gamma Sorority. For the last 23 years she was employed with People's Bank in Biloxi as Assistant Vice President of Investments. Mrs. Wood was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Lee Hamilton, Sr. and Mildred Cagle Hamilton. She is survived by her loving husband, Sam Leola of Biloxi; brother, Robert Lee Hamilton, Jr. of Olympia, WA, and his children, Steven Lee (Cary) Hamilton of Olympia, WA and Catherine Lee Hamilton (Ryan) Mahoney of Portland, OR; sister, Linda Lee Hamilton (Borden) Brister of Brandon, MS and her children, Christy Lee (Tim) Brister of Brandon, MS, Benjamin Bradley Brister of Dallas, TX and Brian Borden Brister of Madison, MS; sister-in-law, Tiina (Steve) Alnick of Honesdale, PA; brother-in-law, Tony (Mary) Leola of Bricktown, NJ; three great nieces and four great nephews. The family prefers donations to The Humane Society of South MS, 2615 25th Ave., Gulfport, MS 39501. A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 26, 2011, at 1 p.m. at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Pass Road, in Biloxi where friends may visit from 11 a.m. until service time.
