Janet "Nanny" Sweet Mayer, age 80, of Saucier, died Wednesday, May 14, 2008 in Saucier. Mrs. Mayer had been a resident of the Gulf Coast since 2004 and was a former resident of Mobile, AL and Fairhope, AL. She was the author of "Valiant Endeavour". She was Catholic, a homemaker and an accountant for the University of South Alabama.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin Franklin and Camilla Haley Sweet; a daughter, Sharon Mayer Hill; and three brothers, Franklin Sweet, Harold Sweet, and Johnny Sweet.
Mrs. Mayer is survived by two daughters, Patricia Harden and her husband, Brian and Anne Mayer, all of Saucier; four sons, Charles T. Mayer and wife, Sharon of Mobile, AL, Michael Joseph Mayer and wife, Trish of Frankenmuth, MI, Stephen F. Mayer and wife, Judy of Mobile, AL, and Paul G. Mayer and wife, Pat of Mobile, AL; seven grandchildren, Thomas A. Mayer of Saucier, Christy C. Powell of Grand Bay, AL, Wendy Martin of Concord, NH, Ben Mayer of Mobile, AL, Briana Mayer of Frankenmuth, MI, Lauren McCrary of Ft. Worth, TX and Ilya Minshew of Ft. Worth, TX; and five great-grandchildren.
A service will be held at a later date.
