Janet V. Dryden

Mrs. Janet V. Dryden, age 69, a resident of Gulfport, passed away January 29, 2007. She was born December 7, 1938 and was the daughter of Eugene and Kathern Taylor of Baltimore, Maryland. On February 14, 1973 she married Donald Dryden. A caring wife and mother of eleven children and step-children, Janet was preceded in death by her mother, father and one son. She is survived by her husband, sister, two brothers, ten children, nineteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Janet was a PTA mom, coach of girl's pee-wee softball, and a cheer-mom for grade school football teams. She participated in the Brownie and Cub Scout programs. In her later years, she became a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Post 119, involved in helping hospitalized veterans, fund-raising for medical care for children, and assisted in food preparation at the post home. During her membership, Janet held several positions in the auxiliary. Janet was an avid Bonco player, a cheerful person, and a wonderful friend of "Bonco Babes". As a member and supporter of the 40/8 and Cobane she was very well-liked and well-known. Janet will be sadly missed by her friends and family. For her family, her sweet smile will forever remain in our minds, and her outstanding love forever in our hearts. Services were previously held and assisted by Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Howard Avenue, Biloxi.
