Janice Marie Woodcock Stewart

Janice W. Stewart, born October 30, 1946, passed away Thursday, September 25, 2008 in Gulfport. Jan, as she was known to her friends, was a giving person. After Hurricane Katrina, Jan helped many people and was recognized at a ceremony in Jackson by MS Governor Barbour. Jan was preceded in death by her father, B.C. Woodcock, Jr.; a brother, Roger D. Owens, her grandparents, her aunt, Charlene Ladner; and a cousin, Donna K. Smith. She is survived by her step-mother, Geraldine Woodcock, her sisters, Faye Mascroft (Ron), Shirley Pierson, all of Saucier; Kay Goodman (Billy) of Biloxi; and Debbie LaComba of CA; her brothers, Billy Woodcock of Gulfport, Noel Ellesberry (Ava) of Wiggins, Otis Hosier (Pam) of VT, Austin M. Woodcock (Michelle) of FL; and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her Aunt Frances "Frankie" Threlkel; special cousins, Bobby and Chasz Bull, and Chuck Johnson, all of Gulfport. Jan will be sadly missed by her very good friends and one of her caregivers, Brenda Stover, and Roe and Brandon Stover, all of Gulfport. She was loved by WOW (Women of Wisdom), and Aglow Christian Group. She loved the Lord and we know she is in heaven and is forgiven. Thanks to all who helped care for Jan and especially to Trinity Hospice, Kathy and Jeremiah Wimberly, and special friend, Rick Muli of Hattiesburg. The funeral service will be held Monday, September 29, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, O'Neal Road, Gulfport where friends may visit from 1:00 p.m. until the service.
