Janice Priester Swearingen

Janice Kay Priester Swearingen, age 67, of Pass Christian, MS, a wife, mother, sister, aunt, friend and role model, passed away Friday, July 10, 2020. Jan retired six years ago from Bancorp South in Gulfport where she established herself as a leader in the mortgage banking industry. She also served as mentor to many young people who entered the business. She was known for her unfailing kindness, generosity, integrity and grace. Jan was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Swearingen. She is survived by her daughter Susan Beesley (Matthew); son Charles Swearingen (Margaret); three sisters, Susan Gammon, Carol Scruggs (Kenneth) and Linda Montoya (Pat); and her brother Ben Priester (Rebecca).
